I also recall Elvie being pretty fast - indeed pretty and fast.

I was once whisked around Bathurst by Heather Spurle ina Commodore while I was doing a live radio report back to NZ - now she could peddle

Never crossed my mind Ross, but come to think of it, not bad idea.

Liar! You wished she'd towelled you up! Think I had the same wish.

Hey! Everyone's forgetting about Jenny Watson. Beat the boys fair and square at Baypark in FV. Moved into FF briefly then headed off to the UK and marriage. Fond memories Finchy?

Wasn't it another lady who drove the Maybelline Mini?
Or did Cheryl take over the sponsorship?

That lady Elvie Williams could peddle, pity she slipped off the scene as she would have gone along way. She was very smooth with a car. Watched her towel up her then old man and every one else one day at Puke in the wet on club curcuit in a Escort 1600 Sport (chocolate colour) and I was not paying attention to her, true.

Isobel Boreham raced in grass track meetings, hillclimbs and co-drove with Ivy Stephenson in one of the long distance saloon car races at Puke in a Fiat 500 I think. She was also a MANZ steward, on the MANZ executive, co drove with husband Steve in rallies. Before that she and Steve were very keen triallists at Gold Star level. Then there was Cheryl Parnell, Mary Carney, Debbie(?) Lester, all good drivers there by right.
