Richard, welcome aboard, its fantastic to have you here. Sounds like you'll be offering some interesting knowledge to the forum. I hope you'll start posting about the 1938 - 45 period, that would be completely fascinating.

Some of you will know my name, some will recognise the avatar. :cool:

Amateur motor sport historian who's been following the sport since I was in short trousers. Graham Hill fan back then, which kind of dates me :o Other highlights - Jochen, big orange M8s, Piers, 917s, Lotus 72s, Connew, Tony, Roger and Tom ... kind of lost interest for a while after that ... Nige, Damon ... etc ... etc.

But I was always fascinated by the older stuff: the more I looked, the more I wanted to know. For the past few years I've been researching the period between 1938 and 1945 - which is far more interesting than you might think!
