Hi Juha, welcome to The Roaring Season. Its great to have you here. Your Escort sounds awesome! Would love to see some pics. Feel free to email me and I can post them up.

Lee Costello still owns his fathers V8 Escort. He is a member on here but can also be found on Facebook if you want to contact him?

Those were truly great years of rallycross. Although this version of motorsport didn't spread as far as New Zealand - we tended to stick to rallying - I used to love watching European rallycross on TV.

I notice that Top Gear's Clarkson, Hammond and May even had a go at English rallycross a while back.

Thanks! Maybe I start a thread of my project. I have seen the best years of european rallycross ( when Schanke drove 2wd escort to B group cars) so I'm a very oldskool guy and escorts must be always there where is a motorsport, even drifting :)

Welcome to 'The Roaring Season' Haxu. Your Escort drifter sounds like an interesting project. Volvo powered race cars are very rare here in New Zealand.

You should start a thread all about your car.

Cheers, John

Hi, my name is Juha but my friends call me Haxu, so can You.
I was looking projekt pictures of v8 super saloon escorts and I found this great forum :)
I have a mk1 escort drifter with volvo 2.3 16v in it. Need more power so I'm planning to build v8 super saloon. The british Costello escort have the look I like thought it has Rover 5000 v8, I'm going to use ford 302w- or 351w stroker engine.
