There are 2 recent McLaren CanAm arrivals in Oz
One is an 8F (ex twin turbo car) and the other an 8E

McLaren were not interested at all in purchasing the M8

Out of curiosity why was a deal not thrashed out when the $$ was being discussed with UK HQ for the car to come back every so often to NZ
1 HD festivals
2 Bruce McL anniversaries
3 Royal visits
4 any time an old McL driver wants to drive it on kiwi soil

Wow, that should be fun. I recall seeing SID Mk 1 on the trailer and the Fletcher windscreen was the dominant factor, shook my head and giggled briefly, until I saw it whiz down the back straight at Bay Park, whistle back towards the pits and scoot through the right-hander like a go-kart on steroids, HORN !!
What a weapon it was...looking forward to more info from the Maestro.

Hay BRY3500 I always called McLaren orange even painted the Cooper that colour once looked cool ,So painted S I D 1 that same
colour 1n 1973 when it had the V8 289 and sold it in that colour Jamie A
