Yes he did on occasion. The late Possum Bourne also had a couple of dabbles over the xmas periods in his Subarus.

Interesting to see Neil Allport in the Mainfreight Escort just behind Trevor Crowe in shot #2 post 21.

In practice Rob Kennard had big shunt into bank coming onto back straight and did alot of damage, on conversation with members of the infamous Matamata Fridge Club Rob was told to "follow us over the hill we can fix that". When they arrived in Matamata Kennard said "thought you said just over the hill". Any way the car was dispatched to the boy's panel shop, stripped, pulled, beaten, painted and back together by 4.30 the next morning. Kennard and team could not believe it. There were a few nerv settling ales had the clubrooms as the work progressed. We all ended up with Kennard t-shirts after that and it was the start of a North-South Island relationship with alot of good fellows and fellowess's. It's a great sport for meeting people, some good some not but you sort that out.

Well done Rob! I can barely even see some of the cars further down the grid, so pretty impressed you could pick them out.

Definitely correct on all the South Island cars.

Ian Munt, Rob Kennard, Ian Algie and Graeme Addis were a bit further down that grid than I'd have expected that day, Kennard possibly due to the practice incident, but the others?

Sorry Lee, I should have posted how cool your photos are! They capture a great period in NZ sports sedan and OSCA racing and some of the big North/South battles that took place..........and which were usually won by the South Island boys. Have you seen the Modified 70s and 80s Saloons thread? You must have a bunch of great photos to add to this thread? http://www.theroaringseason.com/showthread.php?56-Modified-70s-and-80s-Saloons-Picture-Thread

Lee, we must have been standing besides one another when the pitshot of the two cars was taken. Great cars, great times and hopefully more to come in the near future.

Hi, yes the fiirst starlet will be there but have never had replys from the Stevensons about the second starlet appearing.
If anyone has any photos off the OSCA cars from the old days or cars that ran against them I would love them emailed to me for the photo slideshow we will have at the OSCA Reunion

Good call bigbanger, the rear wing improved the cars lap times immensely. When his rivals enquired about it, he told them he bolted it on so he could squeeze more sponsor logos on the car and thats all it was there for. I think it came off a single seater?

Lee, those photo's are prior to the fitting of Hillborn fuel injection and the rear wing which did wonders for the speed and handling of this, the first of the two Starlets.
