Bruce,

The picture is of the first Ibis - which went on to be the Chevron. Note - it is not the Ibis Berkeley

This is the Ibis Berkeley...

Ian Byrd - IBIS Photos Wanted

Hi all, I'm very new here, and hoping to reach out to your community to gather some photos etc to put together of The" Ibis" Kit Car built in the early 80's by Ian Byrd and I believe Tim Monck Mason? The photos will be printed and framed for one of Ian's sons for Christmas.

I apologize I know quite little about the cars. Only that they were built to take mini mechanicals (which makes sense as he also restored Mini's with the boys) I understand one went on to become the Chevron and the MkII became the Wasp?

I would very much appreciate any images available of the Ibis, or even his Mini's. In particular I am trying to get hold of a photo of Ian on the start line of a race in the Ibis, which was published in Sports Car Club Magazine in March 1984.

Thank you all in advance for any help you can offer :)

Cheers,
Melinda
