Roaring Season member 'bry3500' just reminded me of this great piece of Australian Sports Sedan footage, from Calder Park in 1981. The field includes all the top guns of Australian Sports Sedan competition of the period, including Bob Jane, making one of his last appearances as a driver, in his new Chevy Monza, or at least attempting to. Also, in the line-up is Tony Edmonson, in the Don Elliott owned Chevy V8 powered Alfetta, with which Edmonson won the 1980 and ’81 Australian Sports Sedan Championships with.

The field also includes ex-pat Kiwi Jim Richards, in the Murray Bunn built XC Falcon hardtop, John Briggs in the ex-Red Dawson DeKon Chevy Monza (DeKon 1001), current day V8 Supercar team owner Garry Rogers is in a Torana Hatchback, Brad Jones in the Mercedes Benz which would later have a twin-turbo six fitted, which, although spectacular and loaded with potential, proved to be massively problematic.

Also in the clip is John McCormack in the V12 Jaguar XJS, Tony Hubbard in a Torana Hatchback, Peter Finch in an HQ Monaro, which I believe was formerly raced by Gordon Stevenson, plus John Chambers in the Grant King built Chevy Monza formerly raced by Kiwi Art McKee and currently owned by Roaring Season member 'Aussiemonza'.

Peter Brock is helping with the commentary.
