Welcome Peter - I was 55 last month, so I don't regard 57 as anything other than just a tiny bit past the mid point...

Ever considered Formula Ford? We have a great bunch of guys in our Old Fart group, the racing is close and clean and there are a heap of cars on the market just now. And size is no barrier - the guy who finished runner up in the 2012/13 championship is over 6 foot 2 and 100kgs!

Age wise, we have guys between 35 and 74...Feel free to contact me the idea of open wheel historic racing appeals where a decent car costs around $20,000 and annual running costs don't kill you.

First off 57 is not old, second get a car and go have fun before you do get old.

Welcome and a Escort is a good start.
