Don't think he repainted it after taking it over from Laurence Brownlie and racing it at Pukekohe and Levin

But to back up the bus as to who drove under the Lexington colours, it has been suggested (with some photos)
* Spinner Black (Camaro)
* Roly Levis
* Bert Hawthorne
* David Oxton - is that correct? I know he was in the Winfield team, both FF and F5000
* Jim Boyd (Stanton)
* Dave Simpson (Escort T/c)
* Barry Phillips (Mini)

Any more?

Didn't Graham McRae have his Brabham in Lexington colours in its last race at Levin prior to departing ob Driver to Europe?

Yes and yes. 1961/62 season. Segedin took a year off from racing, which is where Innes's team mount came from. Ganley would have been 18 or 19, Greenville 22 or 23 and Segedin I think 24

As you say Bruce, an impressive set-up.

With Coppins are Barry Phillips (Mini) and David Oxton (Begg FM4 and Elfin Formula Ford)

Plus...
-Rod Coppins ( Camaro)
- Roger? Anderson (BMW)[/QUOTE]

Does anyone have any pics of the Cambridge-liveried 4WD go-kart ? About the size of a shifter kart, but had a Mac 91 driving each corner. Saw it at a pre-Xmas Bay Park tuning day, good straightline speed but eye-popping corner speed ! Had a rudimentary wing too, if I recall. Anyone ?

Thanks David, am I correct in thinking this was around 1961-2? If so it obviously pre dates Ivan Segedin's Mustang and Howden, Ross Greenville and Ivan must have been quite young.

Dark green and silver - NZ's racing colours!

So in #52 which of the Anglias was Powerful Percy?

Don't know, I have a feeling the 4th car was a single seater. Someone will know! Certainly Bryan Innes was from Hamilton. The Waikato area was a hot bed of Motorsport at the time.

Howard, was it not Bryan Innes?

Re the Lola T70 - you could have knocked me over with a feather when I saw that at Goodwood in 08 - it had been nearly 40 years and I am sure the '22' was still in the tiny red roundel.

Re the Coppins Pontiac - probably the day that photo was taken I asked Rod for his autograph. I handed him my book and he said 'hold this' - so I took his helmet and while making sure I didn't drop it I accidentally took a photo. Somewhere in my awful box of snaps is a photo of the inside of 'Hot Rod's' crash hat...

Was wracking my brain this morning trying to think of the 4th member of the Motordrome Team. Team leader and patron Ivan Segedin, Anglia or Mustang?, Howden Ganley Lotus 11 and Dennis Marwood presumably in his Humber 80 days. Was Ross Grenville the 4th?

Courtesy of the late great Jack Inwood, a nice piece of history. I can recognise Jack Nazer, Roly Levis and John Ward. Not sure who is behind the flag but I don't think it's Rod Coppins.

What a great line-up. Something of a noticeable Ford bias here (other than the engine in the Mk2). Small Fords need molyslip? The aero work on the Anglia front lights are a treat. Whoever did the work on 135 may have been fantasizing at the thought of his girlfriend's tight sweater perhaps?

I think the guy leaning against the Cortina just to the right of the pole might be Glen Jones. Bob Homewood would also probably know some of the other faces, as people like Bill Norrish would have probably worked on these cars.

Another team from the past- Molyslip (early / mid-60s?) I'm thinking Rod Coppins in the Zephyr and Jack Nazer in Anglia.

Who can add some detail on cars and drivers under the Molyslip banner?

Shoreboy57- the Molyslip team had some coverage on another thread.
I still have an unused Molyslip sticker in one of my Motorman mags. Cool colour.
