Volunteer Archivists? - The Bruce McLaren Trust Needs Your Help

by Steve Holmes » Fri Jul 15, 2011 10:30 pm

The below is from an email sent to me by Jim Barclay, asking for help identifying and archiving the amazing Jack Inwood collection of historical New Zealand photographs. Surely someone on here could be of assistance:

"If you don't mind, put in a plug for the Trust on your new website - if we
sell photos, it helps keep the Trust running. We are currently moving
slowly through the huge project of scanning all the thousands and thousands
of 2.25 inch square roll film negatives onto digital CDs. Then we have to
title them all so we know where, when and who the cars/drivers were.

You see, one problem we have at the Trust is that Jack Inwood never dated or
titled his photos. Amongst others, I have been working through the proof
sheet books titling the single seaters using the Levin programmes I have.
However, for events beyond Levin, I have no programmes and very little
knowledge of who was racing any car beyond the single seaters.

Is there anyone 'out there' who would like to become involved in the project
to title the photos ? If so, please get in touch with Jan McLaren at the
Bruce McLaren Trust at Remuera mailto:?subject=&body= or phone 09
522 8224".
