David you got it right first time.
Steve played with Turbos on the BMW for awhile and had few problems. This was fairly new stuff then. Took car to Asia with Air NZ team. The late Paul Swann, a cousin of the Schollums raced car after Steve.
Jag,that was agreat car. Yes wheel arches were modified and paint etc done by Lyall Martin who painted all of Dave Silcocks cars and alot of other peoples cars as well especially the Millens. The wheels on Jag, are the original wheels of Faheys first BOAC backed Mustang. Have picture somewhere will post.

David Silcock usually raced as #40, plus you can see the wheel arches have been flared quite heavily on the Jag in this shot.

Don't recall whether either he or Dave Silcock took it south, but Millen certainly did

Yeah good idea Myles, Gregor Marshall has a great interest in saloon racing history and should know what is happening with it. It would be good to know how the car is progressing.

Have you had any progress updates Rowan?

....as Stated in another thread,This Camaro was purchased from Bob Jane by John Pollard,'Sports Sedanised' by the 'Guru' John Sheperd, sold to a Farmer on the 'Philip Island' Peninsula, who took it out for a 'Trot' every now and again (350 with down draft set up and 4speed),then purchased by our own ...aussiemonza...Rowhan,then I saw a picture of its arrival in England in an English magazine called 'CARS' (I think that was the publication!!?) where its going to be restored back to its 'Castrol' livery......They have a 'mountain' of work in front of them,it had more 'holes' drilled in it than a block of 'swiss' cheese, last time I saw it on the farm, but I'm sure they will take seroiusly the challenge knowing its great heritage/history,I know Gerry Marshal's son gets on these forums, perhaps we can 'delegate' him to do some Detective work!!!!!!!!............regards thunder427/MJ :)

I remember reading somewhere that the Camaro driver drove Jimmt Richards off the Pukekohe circuit one time because he passed him round the outside at the hairpin in the wet !!! Apparently he was not amused by the young upstart.

Mike, the Lancaster Victor crashed during the '77 racing season and burnt to the ground, sadly.

Wet Baypark kind of induced some different approaches, as witnessed by spoiler that did not like curb swipe at end of back straight.
PS if any one has any other photos of this car would be interested in seeing them.

I could never imagine Alan Woolf doing anything like that, but the Camaro driver ? Yeah good possibility.
I was told that Robin gave up on the Firebird because it scared him, Hard to believe.

Alan Woolf is the gentleman in the MacSpeed Escort and he did not touch you, he just went around you, and did it easy. a very quick little car with a very quick peddler. I think Robin got tapped up in a earlier race by a gold Camaro (ex Mustang Driver) with a carpet name on it, can remember a little bit going on at that time.

Craig, That is a great shot. It look like it could be taken just a few seconds before the one above with the tail stoved in. Probably some errant Ford driver driving by braille gave him a tap..

You are right. To get a photgraphers pass at Baypark you had to supply them with 6 photos. The pass let you stand pretty well anywhere you liked especially on practice day when there weren't to many people around. You also had to sign a release form in the event that anything happenned to you.

They say tar seal is for getting there, and dirt is for racing. Dirt is also for getting sideways.
